English Language Arts 

Wonders

 

In reading we are focusing on the following: increasing text complexity, emphasis on academic vocabulary, building of knowledge through content rich informational text, and text dependent questions to elicit responses that require specific evidence from the text.

 

ELA writing tasks: Students are responding to prompts for a variety of purposes such as informative/explanatory, opinion, and narrative.

 

Each Week Students will independently and/or collaboratively work on a weekly checklist which will include the following items: independent reading, vocabulary, respond to reading, and scootpad assignments, newsela assignments, and teacher created Google Classroom assignments. Students will also work on reading stamina, supporting reading with text evidence, vocabulary, and writing skills.
